Today, 29th August 2026, the Diaspora Community of Uganda in Egypt, coordinated by the Embassy of Uganda in Cairo, participated in Cancer Run 2026, under the theme “restoring hope, solidarity and a prayer for healing.”
The starting point was the northern foot of Mount Sinai, close to St. Catherine’s Monastery.

The team was flagged off by Ms. Christine Tabingwa, Administrative Attaché at the Embassy, who commended the Diaspora community for always supporting each other during challenging moments.

She encouraged the community to continue showing up for one another and actively participating in initiatives that promote solidarity, compassion and collective wellbeing.

At the finish line, (the Summit of Mt. Sinai) a prayer for healing and hope for cancer patients, survivors and affected families was offered, reaffirming the Diaspora community’s commitment to standing together in times of need.

Ms. Tabingwa presented motivational tokens to the front-runners in recognition of their outstanding performance.
